Authentic pattern for a baroque corset.
These stays are the foundation for the fashionable silhouette of the 1630s-1660s. They are fully boned. Its shoulder straps run below the shoulder line, allowing for off shoulder necklines, typical of the baroque era.
Our pattern is based on extant historical stays, especially the „Sittingbone Stays“, a pair of stays found under the floorboards of a demolished house in Sittingbone/England. Stays like these would have been worn by women of various social classes. The wear and tear of the „Sittingbone Stays“ suggests they have been worn until they were worn out. They have been dated to the 1630s.
Includes 11 Sizes: 34-52 (= Bust: 84-128 cm =33 1/2-51″, Waist 66-110 cm = 26 1/2-44″)
